The amount of time needed to revisit and acquire data for the exact same location. In the modelling, the variations in time of specific weather phenomena, which to model is able to represent.

The temporal resolution is high when the revisiting delay is low and vice-versa. In the atmospheric modelling temporal resolution is typically high if the model calculation step (time step) is small. In the atmosphere, smaller phenomena are typically short-lived. Therefore, modelling of such feature need high temporal resoulution in addition to high spatial resolution.
