Definition (en) The smallest change in a physical variable which will cause a variation in the response of a measuring system. Resolution in atmospheric modelling describe the size of the weather phenomena that the model is able to represent.
Explanation (en) Resolution indicates the accuracy with which something can be measured, or the scale at which it is measured. Resolution in atmospheric modelling indicates the size of the atmospheric phenomena that the model is able to represent. Resolution can be divided in to spatial and temporal resolution. Furthermore, spatial resolution can be divided into horizontal and vertical resolution.
